SHIRLEY LAURO is an award-winning playwright whose ensemble play A Piece Of My Heart premiered at Manhattan Theatre Club in 1991 and was revived by 3Graces Theater Co. last November. A Piece Of My Heart tells the stories of six incredible American women in wartime Vietnam, and opened 3Graces' main stage series focusing on women's "War Stories." Lauro's full-length plays include Open Admissions, for which she received Tony and Drama Desk nominations; The Contest; Pearls On The Moon; Margaret and Kit; Speckled Birds; and Out Of Time. Her two latest plays, Clarence Darrow's Last Trial and All Through The Night will have their premieres this year. Lauro has been honored with numerous playwriting awards and fellowships, and Open Admissions was named one of the New York Times's "Ten Best Plays of the Year." 3Graces is honored to continue their relationship with Ms. Lauro by presenting her with an Amazing Grace Award, recognizing her enormous contributions to telling women's stories on stage through sensitive, insightful works of theater.

MARGOT STEVENSON began her career in Katherine Cornell's last great tour of the US, playing Bella Hedley in The Barretts of Wimpole Street, a part she also played on Broadway. She understudied Margaret Sullivan in Stage Door and went on to play the original Alice Sycamore in You Can't Take It With You. Her Broadway credits include A Party with Mrs. Patrick Campbell, Venus Observed directed by Laurence Olivier, and The Rugged Path starring Spencer Tracy. She has also appeared in several national tours and in London's West End, where she starred in The Seven Year Itch and Sweet Peril. Among her many radio credits, Ms. Stevenson played Margo Lane in The Shadow opposite Orson Welles. More recently, Ms. Stevenson has been active in regional theatres including GeVa, Syracuse Stage, and Hartford Stage. Off- and Off-Off- Broadway, she has done readings and workshops for Ensemble Studio Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club and Hudson Guild Theatre. Playing Tireseus in Traveling Light's production of The Bacchae at the first FringeNYC marked the third time Miss Stevenson acted with her daughter, 3Graces company member Margot Avery. 3Graces is delighted to honor Ms. Stevenson for her lifetime of accomplishments in the arts, and as an inspiration to the entire company and women artists everywhere.
