3Graces is proud to announce GraceNotes, a forum for studio theater and experimental works. Not every show fits into the formula for a main stage production: solo shows, one-acts, and works-in-progress, to name a few. So we were eager to provide a space for our company members and audience to experience new works and independent projects, and dialogue together. Elizabeth and Annie like to call it an "artistic playground," and that's just what it is -- a test kitchen of sorts, where we not only try out new ideas but get to savor our finished creations -- and share the process with you, our audience. Company member Kathleen Bishop gave GraceNotes its name, inspired by the playful embellishments in music notation that ornament a melody.
Sex. Death.
Satire. Farce. One Actress. Three Characters. Exploding
Genitalia?
Our first GraceNotes offering was the New York premiere of Lisa Beth
Kovets's David's Balls, starring company Member
Margot Avery. Margot plays Angela (the forty-ish eternal ingénue), Martha
(the septuagenarian lesbian producer), and Jane (David's over-educated wife), as
the three ladies search for the libidinous David at Angela’s crowded
party. Things heat up when Jane, in an act of desperate spite, tells an
outrageous lie. David's Balls skips backward and forward in
time as our three ladies, interact with each other and with party guests and
staff (including many of David's other lovers) in this bitchy tour de
force. Explore David's Balls further

GraceNotes continues this June with The Lower East Side Projectadapted and directed by Karen Sommers and written by Kayla S. Cagan.
